From the Desk of Dr. Melissa Sophia Joy:

My journey has been circuitous and long. Abuse and trauma as a child led me to become a spiritual seeker over thirty years ago. During this time, I have been led through multiple-year spiritual initiations which have landed me on the doorstep of where I am today…founder of Sophia Healing Academy and Somatic Awakening®.

In my 20s and 30s, I studied and practiced many forms of meditation, yoga, and indigenous wisdom. Before I ever engaged in the initiation that was to come through spirit in my late 30’s and 40’s I had been prepared by walking through many initiatory portals, which included participating and co-facilitating in numerous vision quests and participating in a six-month women’s initiation process.

At the age of 38, I stepped into a decades-long dark night of the soul experience, where I was asked to give up just about everything to find the deeper meaning of opening to spirit, humility, and surrender in a very profound way. This was the birthplace of Somatic Awakening® and if it wasn’t for this modality and spiritual practice I would not be where I am today.

Through my own experience, ongoing guidance from Spirit and teachers, my clinical training, years of meditation, and the numerous healing experiences with patients…Somatic Awakening® a mind-body-spirit healing modality and spiritual practice was born.

As this experience of the Dark Night of the Soul ended, I was called into a profound spiritual initiation, in which I stepped into many levels of awakening and embodiment. As I stepped more fully into this I was guided to be a Spiritual Teacher, Mystic, Priestess, and then became an Ordained Oracle for the Council of One. A council of higher-dimensional beings who live in a state of oneness and love and who are committed to the evolution of humanity.

I am a guardian, teacher, and guide in the realms of spirit, soul, and emotion. My deepest intention is that my teaching comes from true Source, especially aligned to the Divine Feminine transmissions that are needed on our planet at this time for humanity’s healing.

Recently I had a prophetic dream and transmission that showed me more specifically how the Divine Feminine Healing and Awakening Principles work to heal and awaken humanity, as well as why now is the time for Sophia Healing Academy to rise in the world. The essence of what I was shown is that in order for us as a species to make this next full leap into higher consciousness, we need the Divine Feminine energy to help us heal, all that needs to be healed. Humanity is being asked, (and, if not heeded shoved) into a needed time of healing, reunification, and balance. And, Divine Mother’s energy, love, and presence are here to help usher this in.

Therefore, my heartfelt intention is that all of my teachings hold a high vibration and connection with the divine to help enliven this work and these principles so that humanity heals and we remember our own sovereign divinity.

As a Divine Feminine Spiritual Teacher, I offer deep insight into the nature of reality, healing, awakening, and embodiment in alignment with these principles of the Divine Feminine. My focus is to help you find your own answers, wisdom, and truth inside of you. With the deepest intention being to help you navigate the next step needed to connect to the divine inside. From this place powerful healing energy arises.

I have been a student of many spiritual traditions over the last 30 years. On the deepest level, I find that divinity is in all things, no matter the form.

However, the lineage that I am most deeply connected to is that of Mystical Christianity. I am a priestess in the Sophia-Christos-Magdalene lineage. Through my spiritual awakening experiences, I have been called to reclaim this Divine Feminine lineage and help others who are called, do the same.

As part of this path, I have been ordained to transmit a High Christ Council of Ascended Masters, Angels, and Higher Dimensional Beings who call themselves The Council of One. The transmissions from this council can help you evolve and heal your life on all levels, as well as bestow ease, grace, love, and support. These transmissions are often present in my teachings, podcasts, and in my work one-on-one to help you shift into your next level of physical, emotional energetic healing, spiritual evolution, and awakening.

I have been forged in the fire of what it means to be a teacher and healer in today’s world and feel deeply honored and ready to hold the container of Sophia Healing Academy and Somatic Awakening® and play my part in helping humanity heal and step deeper into remembering the divine beings that we actually are.
