I am the Founder of Sophia Healing Academy and co-creator of the spiritual healing modality and mystical path Somatic Awakening®. I have helped thousands of people in my twenty-year practice as a Naturopathic Doctor, Specialist in Mind-Body-Spirit Medicine, Spiritual Teacher, Oracle, and Intuitive.
However, it hasn’t always been easy. There was a time in my life when I lost almost everything: my career, marriage, and finances completely fell apart. But, then, it got worse when traumatic memories (from this life and others) catapulted into my awareness. I fell apart, lost in a sea of pain, anxiety, and fear.

I then began to receive support from the most unconventional yet trustworthy of places…I had a vision of Yeshua and Mary Magdalene, who told me it was time to remember what I came to do and teach others what I remembered. I went into a potent initiation process and had many more visions, especially from Mary Magdalene, who taught me the basis of a profound spiritual healing and mystical path. By the end of that year, I didn’t even have enough money to buy Christmas gifts for my daughter. Fortunately, my family was there to help. Unfortunately, the situation deteriorated significantly as I was also confronted with an overwhelming influx of traumatic memories surfacing within me. I was internally falling apart and had no idea what to do. I knew the small “me” didn’t know how to be with all this. So, with everything I had, I turned it over to the Divine.
As I did, I began having visions of Mary Magdalene, Yeshua, Divine Mother Sophia, and others within the Christ Family, even though I didn’t consider myself a card-carrying Christian. They started teaching me, especially Mary Magdalene, the basis of a profound healing spiritual and mystical process, which caused me to have the most profound healing and awakening experiences of my life. Through this process, the intense overwhelm and anxiety I’d carried around for years vanished, and I began to feel deeply peaceful, truly free, sovereign, and filled with bliss from the depth of connection I was beginning to feel with the divine.

The Level I Somatic Awakening® Immersion Program is a 7-month program which runs from the end of April. 2025 – Nov. 2025 (with July off) and offers a depth training that helps YOU heal, awaken, and remember the luminous divine being that you truly are.This program guides you step-by-step to alchemically transform the density within your being; whether that be negative voices, past trauma, or negative conditioning. It does so through activating your Higher Self and the Divine in a way that has the ability to transmute the core of trauma and difficulty; in an incredibly powerful and completely trustworthy way that also helps you stay within your capacity.
As you go deeper in this depth training you gain the ability to internalize this transformative work. In doing so, you begin to step into the miraculous through the embodiment your Higher Self, activation of your soul essence and Divine Blueprint, and alignment with the potent power of miraculous manifestation in your life.
This program also serves as a stepping stone for those who want to pursue becoming a Somatic Awakening® Practitioner. Live and Interactive Zoom Classes
These classes will discuss topics designed to give you the background, personal experience, and know-how to bring Somatic Awakening® deeper into your life. They also include meditations, transmissions, council check-ins, experiential processes, witnessing students receiving Somatic Awakening®, and Q & A. We will, on average, meet two Sundays per month from 4:00-6:30 PM PT. The dates for the 2025 Somatic Awakening® Immersion Program Sunday classes are as follows: April 27th, May 18th, 25th, June 8th, June 22nd, August 3rd, 17th, 31st, Sept. 28th, Oct. 12th, and 26th.
These classes are offered online. There is a summer break in the month of July.
Three 3-Day Retreats
There are three three-day retreats that are a part of the Somatic Awakening® Immersion Program. Our first retreat will be on April 12th-14th. Our second retreat is on Sept. 13th-15th . We end with our final retreat on Nov. 8th-10th.
These retreats are all included in the tuition for this program. They are offered to powerfully help you go much deeper into an embodied understanding of Somatic Awakening®. They include wisdom teachings, experiential exercises, meditations, transmissions, and more.
All three retreats will have an in-person option in Sonoma County, California, for those who live close by or who can travel (accommodations and food not included.) However, they will ALL be also offered online via Zoom for those who can’t attend live.

Guided Peer System with Other Students
The Peer System serves an invaluable purpose in helping students feel supported and connected to a community of like-minded fellow students. You will meet once per month with your “peer” to discuss the topics presented, do practice sessions with each other, and share your own personal experiences regarding the practices. Your peer will rotate every two months.
Monthly Guidance
You will receive monthly guidance in the form of readings, spiritual practice, inquiry questions, and more. Some of these practices you will do individually and others with your peer.

I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the things I’m going to learn and step into inside this program. Are you sure I can do this?
This program has a lot to offer that will positively change your life for the better in terms of healing, awakening, and stepping into more freedom in your life. However, Somatic Awakening® is not just a healing modality; it is also a spiritual practice. And spiritual practices are a path, not just a destination. Therefore, this program enables you to internalize the teachings on a deeper level, discover profound healing inside, assists you in embodying your higher self in your day-to-day life, and supports you to live your most awakened miraculous life.
This program is offered in a live format so that you can more fully align these teachings into your life. This format also gets your questions immediately answered and promotes powerful conversation together. Both help you go deeper into understanding and embodying this work.
The Sunday classes have been scheduled every other week, so you have time between the classes to integrate the information. Also, if you miss anything, all classes and retreats will be recorded so you can make them up in a way that works best for you.

I’m tight on money, and I’m not sure I can make a financial commitment like this right now. Can I afford this? Are there scholarships available?
The program pricing is what it is due to the many hours of live teaching, which offers real-time interaction and personalized feedback, as opposed to pre-recorded teachings. Also, the cohorts for this program are on the smaller side. Therefore, you get a lot of individual attention and support. However, if the price point is still a stretch for you, I recommend that you ask yourself the following question: Can I afford not to take this class? Is your deeper self, heart, and spirit guiding you toward it? Does it feel like you need this class to move forward with your life? If so, I have found that when there is the will, there is a way.

Do I receive a certificate as a Somatic Awakening® Practitioner after completing Level I?
After completing this program, you will receive a certificate of completion for the Somatic Awakening Immersion Program. However, you will NOT be a certified practitioner of Somatic Awakening®. To receive certification to be a Somatic Awakening® practitioner, you will need to complete the Somatic Awakening® Practitioner Program. Information on this program is at the bottom of this web page.
I’m unclear about the prerequisite process. Can you clarify what I need to do?
To join the Somatic Awakening® Immersive Program, students must complete at least one of the following prerequisite courses.
Prerequisite Options:
1️⃣ The Homecoming – A three-day intensive designed to provide a foundational experience in Somatic Awakening®.
2️⃣ Embody Healing and Freedom – A pre-recorded introductory course on Somatic Awakening®, offered as a bonus after you apply, complete an interview, and submit a deposit. This course is designed to make onboarding into the program seamless.
3️⃣ The Quantum You – A previously offered course that also qualifies as a prerequisite.
If you have not completed a prerequisite before being accepted, you’ll need to finish the first two modules of Embody Healing and Freedom before the program begins. This ensures you have the foundational understanding needed to dive fully into the immersive experience.
Prerequisites are essential to ensure that students have a foundational understanding of Somatic Awakening® before entering this immersive program. This groundwork allows for a deeper, more integrated experience and helps students fully engage with the transformational nature of the work.
For those just beginning their spiritual journey, this modality may feel more advanced than they are ready for at this time. Additionally, we recognize and respect that not every student will resonate with this practice, and we honor that alignment is an important part of the journey.

Can you explain the application process?
To enroll in the Somatic Awakening® Immersion Program, complete the application here. When you apply, you will also be asked to set up an “Application Call.” During this call, we will discuss your background, answer any questions you have, discuss your alignment with this program, and discuss the logistics regarding the program. Once you are accepted into the program, we will take the next steps to get you on board

I don’t really know you as a teacher. What are your credentials and background?
This is an important question because you want to make sure that I am a good teacher and know what I’m talking about. I get it, and here is the short of it: I’ve been in practice as a naturopathic doctor and mind-body-spirit specialist for over twenty years. I have been a teacher of spirituality, consciousness, energy medicine, and holistic health for even longer. I have also had numerous personal awakening and healing experiences. Most significantly, I’ve had a ten-year dark night of the soul that popped me into multiple awakening experiences and a direct relationship with Sophia Divine Mother, Mary Magdalene, and multiple other ascended masters…which led to Somatic Awakening® blossoming in my life, my healing practice, and now I’ve been teaching it now for the last seven years. - For those wanting to become practitioners, you will complete a Practicum Internship consisting of 50 Hours utilizing Somatic Awakening® in sessions with others.
- The Practicum Internship Also Includes two 75-minute and two 90-minute Practicum Mentorship Sessions with Dr. Melissa.
- Upon completion of the Practicum Internship and the Practicum Mentorship Sessions (with completion of two short oral exams) you will be a Certified Somatic Awakening® Practitioner.
**Note: For Licensed Therapists and Psychologists, with permission, you can miss basic classes you have previously taken regarding trauma and psychology and receive a discount on tuition for the classes you do not need to repeat.
